Happy moments, praise God. Difficult moments,
seek God. Quiet moments, worship God. Painful moments, trust God. Every
moment, thank God
MARIS AND HOWARD
LIFE GETS BETTER EVERY YEAR
We have been married for 42 years. I graduated from Andrews University in 1962 and PUC in 1976. Maris got her CMA degree
from our local college and works in the collections office for some ENT doctors. I taught school in Michigan for 5 years
and then moved to Santa Cruz, Ca. upon a hill just 3 blocks from Monterey Bay. We lived there 7 years and it got to crowded
and so we moved North to Oregon and have been here the last 28 years. I have been in the same school in Salem all that time.
I retired 2 years ago but still teach part time and take care of the small lawn in the Summer. (19 Acres). I love to keep
the school looking nice.

and share my interests and ideas.
I love to jet ski, ride my motorcycle and bicycle. I like to do handyman work. Tools are my
favorite gift.

Welcome to our site
I have been retired for 2 1/2years but I still teach part time.
I still love to go to school and be with the kids. I teach computer science to grade 9. Our school has made a lot of improvements
this year. We have new music practice rooms up above the shop, a new floor in the Multi-Purpose room, and the kitchen is under
construction. We will be adding 6 new classrooms this summer to accommodate grades 11 and 12.
I, also, mow the 19 acres. We have a 3000 Ford tractor, a 17 HP riding mower which my grandson drives and a 10 HP riding
mower which my granddaughter drives. So we pretty well have the place covered. It is fun to work with them and they have a
little fun too.
We have three children and their families that live in Salem. Daughter Pam with husband Darryl and children Braden 11
and Kiara 9. Son Tim works at a sheet metal factory and is not married. Daughter Staci with husband Rogene and Tessa, age
5 1/2 months is the newest addition to our family. We are fortunate in that they all come to our house every Friday evening
for dinner. We have Chili and donuts and a good time. We thank God that they all live close by. Maris is still working and
I asked her when she was going to retire and she said NEVER as long as you are home. I am too hyper for her. But after 42
years of marriage I guess we will make it. My mother is 85 and doing very well. She lives 2 miles from us and so we see her
often.
